Values education is still a relatively new phenomenon
in education in the United Kingdom. The twenty-nine papers in this
volume will give educators and researchers many points of departure for
their own teaching and research. Just a few of the topics covered
include, Values in Conflict Situations, Celebrating Comprehensive
Values, Survival of the Species. A Question of Values, Survival of the
Species and Family Values.
The National Association of Values in Education and Training (NAVET) was
formed in 1988 and officially dissolved on 30th April 1997. During the
nine years of NAVET’s existence the Founders members of NAVET were keen
to share their knowledge and experiences. The NAVET papers contain a
record of those early explorations, debates, discussions and findings.
This volume, together with part 2 and
part 3 will be a valuable addition to a
library collection on values education.
